Snow can sometimes be a nuisance for people living in snowy countries with long, harsh winters, but our ancestors have developed a lifestyle and food culture unique to snowy countries that take advantage of the power of snow. One of them is ``Yukimuro''. At a time when there were no refrigerators like we have today, ``Yukimuro'', which maintained low temperatures throughout the year, not only stored vegetables and other foods, but also protected them from freezing in the winter, and sold snow and ice in the summer. It also became my livelihood. Sake is aged for a long period of time in a snow storage warehouse that can hold 1,000 tons of snow. Storing sake in a snow room produces sake with a mellow taste.
